Singer-songwriter Henry Green has just partnered up with Christian Löffler for "New Fires" - and let's just say, it's an apt name for a track sure to set electronic dance floors ablaze.

We sat down with the musician to hear more about the collaboration, how it came about, and what he's most excited for listeners to take away from it.

Henry Opens Up About The Beginning Stages Of "New Fires"

For Henry Green, a collaboration with Christian Löffler was a dream come true - especially because he'd been a fan of the electronic musician for some time.

"I've loved Christian's music for a few years now, and we'd had brief interactions over social media."

Henry adds that since coming across Christian's work, he'd long hoped for some kind of partnership.

That said, he was still blown away when the invitation to collaborate eventually did come his way.

"I'd always thought it'd be special to work on something together, so I was over the moon when he sent through he early sketch of 'New Fires'! I'd actually heard a clip of the bass and the drums a few weeks earlier, and had some melodies forming in my mind already."

Henry Gives Us Some Insight Into The Creative Process

Social media may have made it easier for Henry to connect with Christian, but with the former based in Bristol in the United Kingdom, and the latter in a log cabin on the Darß peninsular in Germany, the two musicians ended up collaborating remotely.

However, the physical distance was no hindrance to their artistic process.

"Even though we worked on the track remotely, I really felt like we were on the same wavelength when writing it."

As for the songwriting itself, Henry shares that he sat with his ideas for a while, until "Eventually, they formed into more structured parts."

... And Shares His Highlight Of The Experience

As a longtime Christian Löffler fan, the "New Fires" collaboration was a standout experience for Henry, in its own right.

That said, asked if he could pinpoint his absolute highlight, he shares that having fan involvement, prior to the release, was a major plus for him.

"We played an early version of the track live, before the release. It felt really special to step out at a sold out Barbican and perform that track to ears that hadn't heard it yet."

And, for fans who weren't there to experience that themselves, fear not - Henry is excited to do it again in the future, with his new music.

Henry Hints At What He Hopes Fans Take Away From The Track

Aside from "New Fires" being nothing short of a bop, there's also a deeper meaning to it - and Henry hopes listeners will pick up on it.

"The track is about finding your place, at your own pace, in an overwhelming and hectic world. I like the idea that 'new fires' are lit everyday, new opportunities and new experiences ... but that there's no right way or right time to feel these things. We all do things in our own way."

So, asked what he hopes fans will take away from the song, he flashes a knowing smile.

"I hope it lights a fire within, motivates them, but also provides them with peace ."

What's Next For Henry Green?

The past year has seen Henry work with a number of artists he admires, from Parra for Cuva, to Fejka, and now, most recently, Christian Löffler.

Our question? What's next?

"I'd really like to work with Tourist," he muses.

That said, while he'd welcome the opportunity, he also knows everything will happen when it's meant to.

After all, with new fires popping up every day, to call Henry Green's blazing success imminent would be an understatement, at best.
