Andrew Tate, a well-known influencer, along with his brother Tristan, has lodged an appeal against the judge’s ruling to keep them under house arrest connected to s3x trafficking charges.
They are awaiting a decision on their plea to be released from house arrest.
The brothers are contesting a prior court decision that extended their house arrest by 30 days.
The influencer was officially charged with rape, human trafficking, and forming a criminal gang for exploiting women in June. His brother Tristan, along with two Romanian women, were charged with human trafficking.
These developments unfolded shortly after Tate made a derogatory comment about Amanda Holden, a Britain’s Got Talent star, regarding a bikini photograph she had shared.
Tate, often criticized for promoting toxic masculinity, faced backlash for his remarks toward Amanda Holden.
Denying the allegations against him, Tate, who was arrested in Bucharest, has been unsuccessful in overturning his house arrest and is hoping for a favorable outcome this time.
‘I am at the Bucharest Court of Appeal to learn if I will remain under detention for a ninth month. Three months in jail, six months confined to my house,’ Tate wrote on Twitter.
After spending three months in police detention in Bucharest, the Tate brothers were granted house arrest in March following an appeal.
In June, DIICOT, Romania’s anti-organized crime agency, sought an extension of the house arrest after completing its investigation.
Tate, known for propagating conspiracy theories and boasting 7.2 million Twitter followers, has consistently asserted that the prosecutors lack evidence and that there is a political conspiracy aimed at silencing him.
According to DIICOT, Tate, his brother, and two Romanian women formed a criminal group in 2021 for the purpose of human trafficking in Romania, the United States, and Britain.
DIICOT stated that there are seven female victims involved in the case who were deceived with false promises of love, transported to Romania, and subsequently subjected to sexual exploitation and physical violence.
One of the defendants is accused of sexually assaulting a woman twice in March 2022, as per the agency’s claims. The women were purportedly controlled through intimidation, constant surveillance, and coercion related to a supposed debt.
Recently, leaked messages reportedly revealed Tate’s coercion of women into engaging in sex work for him.
When Tate was arrested in Romania, authorities accused him of utilizing the ‘loverboy’ tactic to lure women to his compound in Bucharest under the guise of a romantic relationship and then exploiting them for sex work.
Alleged messages from the ‘War Room’ (Tate’s group chat with his followers) in 2021 depicted him referring to women as ‘targets’ and ‘assets’ while discussing isolating and manipulating them.
In one of the messages, he detailed isolating a woman until she cut off her support networks and stayed at his Bucharest compound.
Tate also seemed to seek assistance from his associates in pressuring a woman to post explicit content on OnlyFans, a platform utilized mainly by sex workers.
‘She’s broke. And she can’t go home. And she can’t leave the house. Man, I sound almost evil,’ he added based on the leaked messages.
