NFL middle linebacker Eric Kendricks plays for the Minnesota Vikings in American football. He was a UCLA Bruins college football player. He gained All-American recognition in 2014 as a senior and won the Butkus Award as the best collegiate linebacker in the country. The Vikings selected him with the 45th overall pick in the second round of the 2015 NFL Draft. With a strong showing at the 2015 NFL Combine, Kendricks cemented his position as one of the best linebackers in the draught; his 4.61 40-yard sprint time was among the fastest among linebackers.
He was the top inside linebacker prospect according to DraftScout.com at the end of the pre-draft process, the second-best inside linebacker according to NFL analyst Charles Davis, the third-best linebacker prospect according to Sports Illustrated, and the fourth-best linebacker prospect according to NFL analyst Mike Mayock.
